IUS Law Journal is now open for submissions for its 4th issue.IUS Law Journal is a double peer-review online outlet in English, one of a kind in this region, published twice a year.It welcomes original scientific papers that have not been published before and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere from academics, professionals and postgraduate and doctoral students. The journal covers topics from both private and public law, irrespective of legal tradition. Submitted manuscripts review scientific papers, book reviews, conference reports and reports from judicial practice.The submissions will be accepted until October 15, 2025.All papers must be written in English and can cover topics from any branch of law.All papers should be written according to the Author Guidelines, which can be found on the IUS Law Journal websiteNow in CEEOL.Submit your paper to: iuslawjournal@ius.edu.ba or hhalilovic@ius.edu.ba

IUS Law Professors Named Academic Reviewers by Federal Ministry

We are pleased to announce that on July 14, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ena Kazić-Çakar, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mirza Ljubović, also a professor at the same Faculty, were officially included in the prestigious List of Academic Reviewers of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science in the scientific area of Social Sciences, specifically in the field of Law.

Assistant Professor Dr. Hana Šarkinović-Köse Delivers Lecture on Legal Comparison of Srebrenica and Gaza

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Hana Šarkinović-Köse from the IUS Faculty of Law (FLW) participated in the Human Rights Education Program by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

The program brought together 30 participants from 7 European countries. Under the scope of commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, the program is dedicated to shedding light on issues such as genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, islamophobia and racism to the economy of genocide.

IUS Law Students Explore Parliamentary Processes in Visit to FBiH Parliament

On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Faculty of Law (FLW) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) conducted an educational visit to the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the course LAW118 – Constitutional Law II. The group was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Mirza Ljubović.

Understanding the State: Legal Principles and Administrative Function in Public Governance

The IUS Faculty of Law (FLW) is organizing a public lecture titled "Understanding the State: Legal Principles and Administrative Function in Public Governance." The guest speaker is Assistant Professor Dr. Zahir Çerkini from the Faculty of Law, "Isa Boletini" University, Mitrovica.The lecture will offer an in-depth exploration of the legal and organizational structure of state administration in Kosovo, based on Law No. 06/L-113 on the Organization and Functioning of State Administration and Independent Agencies. It will serve as a case study for understanding key principles of administrative law in practice—particularly within a post-conflict, transitional legal environment.

From Lecture Hall to Courtroom: FLW Students Explore the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Ena Kazić – Çakar, Dean of the IUS Faculty of Law (FLW), organized a visit to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the Criminal Procedure Law II course.

During the visit, FLW students had the opportunity to engage with representatives from the Court’s Legal Department, the Witness Support Office, and the Public Information and Outreach Office.
