Transitional Justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina: A Case Study of Srebrenica

The Faculty of Law (FLW) is hosting an event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Genocide in Srebrenica. The distinguished speakers include Prof. Dr. David Pettigrew, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ena Kazić-Çakar, FLW Dean, and Ms. Kada Hotić, a member of the Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa Enclave.Prof. Dr. Pettigrew will explore the theoretical aspects of the Genocide in Srebrenica and the challenges of memorialization. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kazić-Çakar will focus on the procedural aspects of the verdicts related to the Srebrenica case, while Ms. Hotić will speak on behalf of the victims.

Exploring Hands-On Learning at IUS "Show and Tell" Winter School 2025

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) hosted its Winter School, "Show and Tell" 2025, from January 10-22, 2025, at the IUS Campus. This initiative was tailored for high school students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, offering them an in-depth introduction to IUS study programs through program overviews, meetings with academic staff, campus tours, and engaging activities.

Exploring the Justice System: Faculty of Law Students Visit the Ministry of Justice of FBiH

Students attending Criminal Law I had an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the criminal justice system through an educational visit to the Ministry of Justice of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), specifically the Department for the Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions.

Hooliganism in England and Bosnia and Herzegovina: Legal and Social Aspects

The IUS Faculty of Law (FLW) is pleased to announce an upcoming online lecture titled "Hooliganism in England and Bosnia and Herzegovina: Legal and Social Aspects." The guest speaker, Mr. Hajrudin Solak, a criminologist specializing in the study of hooliganism, will share his insights and ongoing research on this critical topic. The lecture will explore the legal frameworks and social dynamics surrounding hooliganism in two distinct contexts.    

IUS Delegation Visits Novo Sarajevo Municipality to Strengthen Academic-Government Cooperation

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, a delegation from the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), led by IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım, Vice-Rector for General Affairs Assoc. Prof. Muhammed Yasır Göz, MA, Assistant Professor Dr. Harun Halilović and a group of students from the IUS Faculty of Law (FLW), visited the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, where they met with the newly appointed Municipal Mayor, Dr. Benjamina Karić.
