Public Lecture on "Transitional Justice and Memorialization" by Dr.Sci. David Pettigrew

On November 26, 2021, Dr.Sci. David Pettigrew held a public lecture on Transitional Justice and Memorialization of war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). The lecture aimed at the need for the High Representative to establish national memorial sites at locations of the former concentration camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to protect the survivors and encourage transitional justice in the country.

Faculty of Law Students Visit to The Transitional Justice Memorialization Sites in Sarajevo

On Monday, November 23, 2021 within the course Transitional Justice and company of Assistant Professor dr. sci. Ena Kazić-Çakar, senior students of Faculty of Law visited memorialization sites in Sarajevo. The research tour started with the visit to the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they were able to visit three exhibitions: Sarajevo under Siege, Pazi snajper, and Wake up Europe.

CLDP Book Donation to IUS Faculty of Law

The Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the US government has donated a set of valuable books on international commercial and investment arbitration to the IUS Faculty of Law. CLDP has been supporting the study of international arbitration in BiH and the Vis Moot program for over a decade and they have recognized the value of investing in the capacities of the FLW students.

IUS FLW SUMMER SCHOOL CALENDAR IS AVAILABLE NOW The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) Faculty of Law is proud to announce its first Summer School of International Arbitration, organized in collaboration with Association ARBITRI. The Summer School offers a rich programme that will guide the participants through the fundamental principles of the theory and practice of international arbitration, as well as the cutting-edge developments and hot topics in this field. The programme is open for applications to all interested stakeholders: students, academics, practicing lawyers, government officials and entrepreneurs. The Summer School lecturers are world-class experts in arbitration. They either come from or work at the universities and/or law firms in Europe (including Southeast Europe), the United States, Middle East and India. Together they bring decades of knowledge and experience that will ensure unique insights and a competitive advantage to the participants. ERASMUS+ Guest Lecturer

On 10 November 2021, as part of the ERASMUS+ Academic Mobility program, Dr. Judyta Dworas-Kulik appeared as guest lecturer at the Civil Law I course of the IUS Faculty of Law. Dr. Dworas-Kulik is a professor of the history of the state and the law from the Jean Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland).

FLW Student Armela Mehdin Attend the COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow

The COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy, will take place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, UK.

FLW freshman student Ms Armela Mehdin will be attending the COP26 Conference as a delegate representing the youth of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the first time B&H is having youth representatives in the Conference.

We wish Ms Mehdin and the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina successful discussions.

IUS FLW Students Participate in Workshop by High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH

On October 12 and 13, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH organized a two-day workshop for students of faculties of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina. FLW students took part in the workshop under guidance of Senior Assistant Mirza Ljubović MA.

The aim of the workshop was to prepare students for debates, public speaking, presentations and development of non-verbal communication. Events of this type are of great importance to students in their future education and long-term preparation for performing judiciary-related jobs.
