Arbitration on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Spectrum

Prof. Rogers is scholar of international arbitration and professional ethics at Bocconi University, with a dual appointment as Professor of Ethics, Regulation, and the Rule of Law at Queen Mary, University of London, where she is also Co-Director of the Institute for Ethics and Regulation. Prof. Rogers is the founder and CEO of Arbitrator Intelligence, a global information aggregator and legal tech start-up that aims at improving arbitrator selection. She is a reporter for the American Law Institute’s Restatement of the U.S. Law of International Commercial and Investor-State Arbitration. Among other appointments, she sits on the Board of Directors of the Lagos Court of Arbitration, the International Advisory Board of the Vienna International Arbitration Centre, the Geneva Center for International Dispute Settlement (CIDS) Academic Forum on ISDS, and the Oxford University Press Investment Claims Advisory Board.

FLW Summer School of International Arbitration

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) Faculty of Law (FLW) is proud to announce its third Summer School of International Arbitration. The Summer School offers a rich program that will guide the participants through the fundamental principles of theory and practice of international arbitration, as well as cutting-edge developments and hot topics in this field. The Summer School lecturers are world-class experts in arbitration and together they bring decades of knowledge and experience that will ensure unique insights and a competitive advantage to the participants.   The program is open for applications to all interested stakeholders: students, academics, practicing lawyers, government officials, and entrepreneurs.   The Summer School will take place online, via MS Teams, from 10-16 September 2023. FLW students visit Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina

On Friday, 26th May, students of Faculty of Law of IUS paid a study visit to the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, accompanied by Sen. Assist. Hana Šarkinović-Köse. The visit was actualized as part of the course of Human Rights.

Student Conference on Human Rights and Sustainable Development Goals

On Thursday, 25th of May, students of the IUS Faculty of Law held a conference titled “Sustainable Development Goals and Human Rights”.

The conference was held as final part of the Human Rights course, which emphasised the conditionality of sustainable development and each individual human right that was taught. Students presented their observations, findings and conveyed their messages for each goal respectively.

We were happy to grow knowledge and we hope that our students will be proper advocates for sustainability throughout generations.

Main Trial Simulation

Main Trial Simulation was successfully conducted on Monday, May 23, 2023, at the IUS Faculty of Law (FLW). Within the scope of the Criminal Procedure Law II (LAW 408) course, senior students simulated the hearing at the main trial in a fictional case. Divided in roles of criminal procedure subjects, they had an opportunity to practically experience how performance of those roles, procedural rights and duties work in practice.
