Prof. Dr. David Pettigrew from Southern Connecticut University gave a lecture at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) titled “The Suppression of Cultural Memory and Identity in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Prohibited Memorials as a Continuation of the Genocide” on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Dr. Pettigrew is a fulltime professor of philosophy, Holocaust and Genocide Studies at the University of Southern Connecticut. During the lecture, he spoke about the genocide that was committed in the recent war and the importance of honoring the monuments as symbols of that time.
