Assist. Prof. Dr. İsmail Köküsarı, professor of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law of International University of Sarajevo was invited to give a presentation at the conference held in honor of 54th Anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Constitutional Court.
Assistant Professor Köküsarı presented his work titled “How cases concerning individual applications affect the Interpretation of the Constitution”.

On 7th April 2016, representatives of NGO Žena-Žrtva rata (Association of the Women Victims of War, Sarajevo) working for the women victims of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina visited International University of Sarajevo and had a meeting with the rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu.

Lauranne Duffaut, Associate Legal Officer in the ICTY Appeals Chamber, held a lecture titled “ICTY Practice in adjudicating genocide and crimes against humanity” on Thursday, 28th of April at the IUS main amphitheatre.
Lauranne Duffaut holds an LL.M. degree in International and European Law from the University of Amsterdam where she focused on international public law. Prior to that, she obtained her Bachelor in Law from the Belgian “Université Catholique de Louvain”.

Professor Mustafa Fadil Yildirim PhD, full professor in Civil Law scientific area at Faculty of Law of Gazi University, Ankara, Republic of Turkey visited International University of Sarajevo and the Faculty of Law on Thursday, the 28th of April 2016.
The goal of this visit was to make acquaintance with professors and students of the Faculty of Law and start a sucessful cooperation with Faculty of Law of the renown Gazi University.

Professors of Administrative Law, Prof. Dr. Turan Yıldırım from Marmara university, Prof. Dr. Melik Şah Yasin and Prof. Dr. Aydın Gülan from Istanbul university visited International University of Sarajevo and the Faculty of Law on Friday, the 15th of April 2016. The goal of this visit was to make acquaintance with professors and students of the Faculty of Law, as well as to seek ways of further communication and cooperation between the Faculty of Law of IUS and Faculties of Law of Marmara and Istanbul universities, as highest-ranked universities in the Republic of Turkey.

Prof. Dr. David Pettigrew from Southern Connecticut University gave his second lecture of the year at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) titled "National Unification Through Constitutional Reform". In his lecture Prof. Dr. David Pettigrew was focused on the extent to which, through genocide denial, human rights violations and threats of referenda and secession, the leadership of Republika Srpska continues to engender social divisions in Bosnia, preventing reconciliation and destabilizing the region.

Assistant Professor Dr. Emir Sudžuka and Assist. Professor Goran Šimić, from the Faculty of Law at IUS, participated in Erasmus + exchange Programme and visited Istanbul Commerce University in the beginning of March, 2016. Professor Emir Sudžuka was hosted by Prof. Dr. Sukru Yildiz, chair of Private Law Department and Res. Assist. Zehra Badak Aybar, LLM.

Prof. Dr. David Pettigrew from Southern Connecticut University gave a lecture at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) titled “The Suppression of Cultural Memory and Identity in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Prohibited Memorials as a Continuation of the Genocide” on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Dr. Pettigrew is a fulltime professor of philosophy, Holocaust and Genocide Studies at the University of Southern Connecticut. During the lecture, he spoke about the genocide that was committed in the recent war and the importance of honoring the monuments as symbols of that time.
