Prof. Jevremovic has a decade of practical and academic experience in designing, developing, and delivering courses and training programs in international commercial law and arbitration. Currently, she is a professor at the University of Aberdeen School of Law, UK. As the former president and co-Founder of the association ARBITRI, Professor Jevremovic worked with the national and international stakeholders, such as the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council in B&H and the Commercial Law .

He is teaching and researching in Private International Law, European Union Law and International Commercial Arbitration. Dr. Kabir Duggal is an attorney in Arnold and Porter's New York office focusing on international investment arbitration, international commercial arbitration and public international law matters, serving both as counsel and arbitrator. Dr. Duggal's experience includes complex disputes under numerous bilateral/multilateral investment treaties and contracts in South Asia, Latin America, Central Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Africa. His experience flows from his triple training in international law, common law, and civil law traditions.

The Contours of the Arbitral Proceedings

The Applicable Rules and Laws Governing Arbitral Proceedings, the Powers of the Arbitral Tribunal and the Common Phases of the Proceedings Dr. Khaled Khwaileh is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, International University of Sarajevo, specialising in international trade law, preferential trade agreements and international trade dispute settlement and IPRs. Dr Khwaileh obtained his Master of Research and a Ph.D. in Law from Macquarie University, Sydney (Australia).

Dr. Alessandra Guida is a Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast, specializing in international trade law, international environmental law, and patent law. Dr. Guida obtained her Master of Research and a Ph.D. in Law from Macquarie University, Sydney (Australia).

Arbitration on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Spectrum

Prof. Rogers is scholar of international arbitration and professional ethics at Bocconi University, with a dual appointment as Professor of Ethics, Regulation, and the Rule of Law at Queen Mary, University of London, where she is also Co-Director of the Institute for Ethics and Regulation. Prof. Rogers is the founder and CEO of Arbitrator Intelligence, a global information aggregator and legal tech start-up that aims at improving arbitrator selection. She is a reporter for the American Law Institute’s Restatement of the U.S. Law of International Commercial and Investor-State Arbitration. Among other appointments, she sits on the Board of Directors of the Lagos Court of Arbitration, the International Advisory Board of the Vienna International Arbitration Centre, the Geneva Center for International Dispute Settlement (CIDS) Academic Forum on ISDS, and the Oxford University Press Investment Claims Advisory Board.

He received his S.J.D from American University, Washington College of Law, and LLM in International Trade Law from University of Arizona.

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) Faculty of Law (FLW) is proud to announce its third Summer School of International Arbitration. The Summer School offers a rich program that will guide the participants through the fundamental principles of theory and practice of international arbitration, as well as cutting-edge developments and hot topics in this field. The Summer School lecturers are world-class experts in arbitration and together they bring decades of knowledge and experience that will ensure unique insights and a competitive advantage to the participants.   The program is open for applications to all interested stakeholders: students, academics, practicing lawyers, government officials, and entrepreneurs.   The Summer School will take place online, via MS Teams, from 10-16 September 2023. 2nd IUS FLW Summer School of International Arbitration wrapped up successfully on 23 September!

We are proud to have welcomed students and lecturers from four different continents, and we have managed to cover a vast array of topics ranging from introductory ones to those seeking to tackle complex and controversial issues such as ISDS reform.

IUS FLW wishes to use this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to making this project a reality, and we express hope the School will continue to grow and thrive in the coming years.
