The Faculty of Law (FLW) is hosting an event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Genocide in Srebrenica. The distinguished speakers include Prof. Dr. David Pettigrew, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ena Kazić-Çakar, FLW Dean, and Ms. Kada Hotić, a member of the Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa Enclave.Prof. Dr. Pettigrew will explore the theoretical aspects of the Genocide in Srebrenica and the challenges of memorialization. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kazić-Çakar will focus on the procedural aspects of the verdicts related to the Srebrenica case, while Ms. Hotić will speak on behalf of the victims.

The IUS Faculty of Law (FLW) is hosting a lecture on consumer protection in the United States, with Dr. Dario Džananović from the Illinois Appellate Court in Chicago as the guest speaker.Dr. Džananović will explore the mechanisms of collective redress available in both the U.S. and Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting the contrast between their theoretical frameworks and practical applications. In the U.S., class action litigation plays a pivotal role in enforcing federal consumer protection laws, while in Bosnia and Herzegovina, such mechanisms remain largely unused.The lecture will shed light on actionable insights for improving the Bosnian context, offering valuable perspectives for legal professionals, policymakers, and students alike.

In the third public lecture on the topic of Transitional Justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina, speakers will be examining achievements and challenges related to transitional justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this time with an emphasis on the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a city that was under the siege for 44 months. The lecture will focus on addressing the complex legal landscape of copyright when it comes to works created by Artificial Intelligence (AI).    The guest speaker is Dr. Amit Kumar Kashyap, Asst.
