Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Rector of IUS, gave a lecture to students at the Faculty of Law

Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, rector and full professor at the Faculty of Law of International University of Sarajevo held a lecture to Faculty of Law students on Tuesday, 10th May 2016.

The lecture was about globalization and modern legal challenges in a world of various unresolved armed conflicts which are taking their toll in the form of thousands of human lives on a daily basis. The lecture referred to war-torn geographies ranging from Africa to Asia and the migration of people nowadays as well as historically. Students were introduced to the possible reasons for the refusal of ceasing the said conflicts and above all, legal instruments available to Public International Law in terms of intervention for that purpose.

Students participated in the lecture with constructive comments and questions and this way the goal of the lecture, which was to raise their awareness on the social-economic and humanitarian situation of their fellow students and other citizens was deemed accomplished. The lecture was also taped on video for future generations of students to benefit from it.
