IUS Faculty of Law Hosts Prof. Dr. Emrehan İnal of Istanbul University for Lecture on Turkish Civil Law

On Friday, April 24, 2026, the IUS Faculty of Law (FLW) had the distinct honor of hosting Prof. Dr. Emrehan İnal, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University, for a guest lecture titled “Introduction to Turkish Civil Law.”

The lecture offered students and attendees a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insight into the foundations of Turkish civil law, its historical development, principal sources, and core legal concepts. Through a comprehensive and engaging presentation, Prof. Dr. İnal skillfully introduced the structure and evolution of this important area of law, while also illustrating its practical relevance through carefully selected examples. His lecture successfully connected theoretical perspectives with legal practice, creating a dynamic and enriching academic experience for the audience.

Beyond its academic value, the lecture also served as an important occasion for strengthening institutional ties and encouraging comparative legal reflection. By engaging with legal traditions and frameworks beyond the local context, students were able to broaden their understanding of civil law systems and deepen their appreciation of the international dimension of legal education.

This visit carried additional significance in light of the existing cooperation between the Faculty of Law at IUS and Istanbul University through their double diploma program in Law. This successful partnership continues to provide students with unique academic opportunities and reflects the strong commitment of both institutions to high-quality legal education, international collaboration, and academic excellence.

The Faculty of Law at IUS extends its sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Emrehan İnal for his visit and for the valuable knowledge and perspective he shared with our students and academic community. We look forward to the continued strengthening of cooperation with Istanbul University and to the further growth and success of our joint double diploma program in the years ahead.
