The Future of Arbitration in Southeast Europe: A Perspective of New Kids on the Block by

On Saturday, 18 September at 11 am, a panel discussion was held as part of the IUS Summer School of International Arbitration. The panel discussion was titled somewhat figuratively – The Future of Arbitration in Southeast Europe: A Perspective of New Kids on the Block – to reflect the fact that the speakers were young and highly successful individuals who will likely shape arbitration in the region of Southeast Europe in not-so-distant future.

The panel comprised Nevena Jevremović from Bosnia and Herzegovina, an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen School of Law and a Co-Founder of Association Arbitri, Sara Penđer from Serbia, an Attorney at Law at Stanković and Partners, and Tamara Manasijević from Croatia, an Attorney at Law at a Viennese boutique law firm ARP Attorneys. The discussion was moderated by Dr Boris Praštalo, an Assistant Professor at the IUS Faculty of Law.

The discussion touched upon a wide array of topics, including the reasons why the panellists decided to pursue careers in arbitration, the state of arbitration in the region of Southeast Europe and what the future holds, as well as the position of women in the world of arbitration in Southeast Europe.
