Faculty of Law students visited National Museum in Sarajevo

Law Faculty students of the International University of Sarajevo in the course "History of law in the Balkans" on Thursday, 19 May 2016 visited the National Museum. The National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo is the oldest museum in Bosnia and Herzegovina, established in 1888, during the Austro-Hungarian rule. It is interesting that this is the only museum building in Southeast Europe, which is built for this purpose.

During its century of existence, the National Museum was able to collect a large part of the national cultural heritage of the country and all its peoples. Students, together with assist. prof. Goran Šimić and sen. assist. Benjamina Londrc, had the opportunity to see exhibits from the archaeological, ethnological and natural science departments, wich are classified in several different collections: folklore, natural history, numismatics, prehistoric, ancient, medieval and others.

In addition to the acquired theoretical knowledge, students also got the opportunity to get familiar with physical evidence and sources to the continuity of the state and the law of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Faculty of Law in this way, together with teachers and students, provides support and contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage.
