FLW Hosts Inspiring Lecture on Transitional Justice and Reparations by Prof. Dr. Alma Begičević

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, the Faculty of Law (FLW) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) hosted the first lecture of this academic year within its Public Lecture Series. The guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Alma Begičević from Loyola University Chicago, who delivered an insightful lecture titled “Transitional Justice and Reparations: A Case Study of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

As a recognized expert in the field, Prof. Dr. Begičević presented the historical and theoretical foundations of transitional justice and reparations, offering a comprehensive overview of how societies confront and address the legacies of conflict. She also discussed some of the most challenging and complex cases related to reparations for war crimes, highlighting both the progress achieved and the obstacles that remain.

The lecture inspired meaningful reflection and discussion among students and faculty, enriching their understanding of justice, accountability, and post-conflict recovery.
