Faculty of Law visited the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina
On December 8, 2023, IUS Faculty of Law (FLW) students, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kenad Osmanović visited the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the process of Bosnia and Herzegovina's integration into the EU, particularly focusing on the technical aspects of transposing EU Law into the country's legal framework. Ms. Alma Sakota and Mr. Duško Glodić, legal advisers, welcomed the delegation and offered detailed insights into their daily responsibilities. Discussions revolved around the complex technical assistance required to align Bosnia and Herzegovina's legal system with the rigorous standards of the EU. Also, the historical context of the integration process was presented, outlining the specific obligations Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to fulfill for EU membership. Despite perceived challenges and a slow tempo, it is emphasized that tangible progress exists. The discussions within the Delegation emphasized the complexity of transposing EU Law and the diligent efforts required to harmonize the legal framework. The visit was concluded on a positive note. We express our gratitude to Ms. Alma Sakota and Mr. Duško Glodić, and the entire team at the EU Delegation for their warm welcome and insightful discussions.
