Directorate for European Integration hosted students of the Faculty of Law of the International University of Sarajevo

On 18 December 2023, the Directorate for European Integration hosted students of the Faculty of Law of the International University of Sarajevo, accompanied by the Assist. Prof. Dr. Kenan Ademović. Ms. Selma Dazdarević-Jašarević, adviser at the Division for Legal alignment of BiH legislation with EU acquis held a presentation on EU Law and the legal alignment process in BiH. Students were introduced to primary and secondary sources of EU law, EU principles, and legislation of EU. Also, DEI provided students with all the necessary information regarding the legal alignment process of BiH, the Stabilization and Association Agreement, and the stages of the integration process that BiH went through. DEI informed students about the first legal information system on the legal alignment process that will soon be used in BiH. At the end of the presentation, DEI pointed out what requirements and priorities are set for BiH to join the EU and what are the next steps in fulfilling those requirements. After that, a discussion was opened, and students asked questions and discussed the topic.
