Faculty of Law participates in Education Program on Human Rights by YTB
International University of Sarajevo (IUS) hosted on 12th July the Opening Ceremony for Education Program on Human Rights, which is being organized by Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) since 2012. The Program spans from 9th to 16th July 2021 and comprises an educational, as well as a section which allowed participants to experience the Peace March and Commemoration ceremony in Srebrenica.
The Rector of International University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr Ahmet Yıldırım addressed the audience where he stated that this program and the anniversary of suffering of innocent civilians in Srebrenica genocide were being held at the same time.
Mr Abdullah Eren, the President of YTB stated in his address that considering the program was being held in Sarajevo, it would be commenced with a presentation on the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals.
To that end, Senior Assistant Hana Šarkinović-Köse MA of FLW held a lecture titled: Commentary on Final Appeal Judgment for Ratko Mladic before IRMCT.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of accepting tribunal judgments brought beyond reasonable doubt based on evidence presented thereof. Indictments should be raised and as high as possible a number of criminals have to be tried before domestic courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Establishment and acceptance of true facts on the Bosnian war will bring peace and reconciliation to all peoples living in the country.
