IUS Students Connect Legal Theory with Institutional Practice at the Parliamentary Assembly

Students of the Faculty of Law at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) enrolled in the Roman Law course had the opportunity to take part in a valuable academic visit to the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina on May 25, 2026. The visit was organized as part of the course activities and was attended by a group of students accompanied by Assistant Salora Turkmanović.

During the visit, students had the opportunity not only to tour the Parliamentary Assembly, but also to attend an informative lecture delivered by Mr. Saša Magazinović, Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through his presentation, students gained a closer understanding of the work of Parliament, its institutional role, and its significance within the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The lecture provided students with a valuable insight into the practical functioning of one of the key institutions of the state, allowing them to better understand how legislative processes operate in real life. For law students, such visits are especially important because they offer an opportunity to observe the institutions they study in theory and to connect legal concepts discussed in class with the realities of public institutions and governance.

This experience further enriched the students’ academic learning by placing their knowledge in a broader institutional context and encouraging deeper reflection on the relationship between law, state institutions, and public responsibility. Visits of this kind represent an important contribution to practical legal education and help students develop a more comprehensive understanding of the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
