Successful Completion of Summer School on International Arbitration
IUS FLW and Association Arbitri announce successful completion on the two-week long programme of Summer School on International Arbitration, which took place from 13 to 25 September 2021. The Summer School was closed by Assoc. Prof. Dr Aliye Fatma Mataraci, Dean of FLW. Dean Mataraci started by expressing her warm regards to all the participants and recollection on the idea of the School. She thanked Fahira Brodlija LLM of Association Arbitri and Assist. Prof. Boris Praštalo of FLW for performing an admirable teamwork in preparation and conduct of the Summer School.
The Summer School had 12 lecturers from 6 different countries and 20 students from 7 different countries, well deserving the term `International` in its title. Dean Mataraci next thanked all the lecturers for sparing their valuable time and energy to share their knowledge and experience in the field. Final remarks were made in regard to the participants. “I am sure participants of the Summer School made the most and the best of the lectures they attended. We will also send each student, who fulfilled the necessary criteria, a Certificate of Attendance and some memorabilia as a token of remembrance”, concluded Dean Mataraci. In continuation, we share the kind words of Mr Bababode Adesoji, participant of the Summer School, as follows: “The last two weeks (which was the duration for the Summer School on International Arbitration) I must say has been one of the best things that has happened to my professional growth so far in the year 2021.
Prior to now, the field of international arbitration was novel to me, and never had I even considered it even though I knew I wanted to pursue a career in dispute resolution (which would span litigation & other ADR). However, the last couple of days have not only increased my knowledge base thereby sparking new line of thoughts in me, but has also given me clearer perspectives on my career goals, and opportunities that abound. None of the foregoing could have been possible but for the magnanimous fee waiver granted to me when I applied for the summer school. Thus I would like to really say thank you to Fahira, Professor Boris, and the entire Faculty of Law of IUS for the privilege afforded to me. I am very much grateful, and do hope to keep in touch.”
We hope this summer school to be the first of many more to follow and we are looking forward to its new issues in the future.
